Honey Glazed Tuna Steaks recipe

Tuna is marinated with lime, coriander, ginger and garlic before being BBQed and glazed with a honey and coriander glaze. A fantastic alternative to the usual BBQ chicken or steak, serve this tuna dish up at summer parties with a big bowl of noodles.

  • 450g tuna fillets, boned
  • 4 tbsp. each olive oil and lime juice
  • Small bunch of coriander, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp. each minced garlic and ginger
  • 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 tbsp. runny honey
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. freshly chopped coriander

  1. Mix together 4 tbsp. olive oil, lime juice, chopped coriander, garlic, ginger, vinegar and salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Add the tuna steaks and turn to coat evenly. Cover with cling wrap and leave in the fridge for a few hours.

  2. Heat the BBQ to a high heat. Oil the cooking grate. Whilst the charcoals are at a medium heat, put the tuna fillets onto the grate. Cook for 1-2 minutes, close the lid, flip over and cook for another 1-2 minutes whilst the lid is closed. Open the BBQ and continue cooking until the fish is almost cooked all the way through. Baste frequently with the marinade.

  3. Mix runny honey, 2 tbsp. olive oil and coriander in a bowl, then brush over both sides of the fish when cooked.

Try using parsley in place of the coriander or add a freshly chopped chilli to the marinade for a bit of kick. Recipe serves 4.
